Job description

This role is in person, Monday through Friday, (6:00 AM to 3:00 PM).


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have 3+ years prepress operator experience.


Must have experience with Prinergy, Preps or other similar programs such as Apogee or Prinec.


Use Adobe Suite products daily, especially InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.


JOB SUMMARY:

Description

Primary responsibility is Prepress Mac file production for offset printed products including: packaging, saddlestitch and perfectbind books, menus, diecut/foil/emboss items and all other general commercial work. Candidate must have a well-rounded knowledge of the entire print production process, strong verbal and written communication skills, maintain high quality standards and be detail oriented.

Job Duties

  • Perform work as assigned by Prepress Manager. This includes:
  • Application file prep
  • Make plates
  • Trim and QC proofs
  • Use Adobe Suite products daily, especially InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Use Prepress software/impostion (i.e. Kodak Prinergy/Preps)
  • Communicate well. Respond to questions and provide support to others in Prepress, outside departments and clients in a professional manner
  • Make suggestions to improve processes and reduce mistakes
  • Observe that proper quality control procedures are being followed
  • Keep department clean and organized
