Preppy information

What is a preppy?

Preppies are individuals associated with a specific subculture, often characterized by a classic, clean-cut fashion sense, and an emphasis on traditional values. The term originated from students who attended preparatory (prep) schools, especially in the Northeastern United States, and has become synonymous with a particular lifestyle and aesthetic. Preppy style typically includes items like polo shirts, khakis, sweaters, and loafers. Beyond fashion, being 'preppy' can also refer to certain social circles and cultural attitudes, such as valuing education, etiquette, and extracurricular involvement.
