Custom Door Prep

Position Summary

The Custom Door Prep is responsible for preparing and inspecting doors to meet company quality standards and customer specifications. This role ensures all products are properly prepped in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prep doors for finishing by sanding, filling, cleaning, and masking as needed
  • Inspect products for defects and ensure high-quality finish before release
  • Maintain clean and organized work area, including spray booths and equipment
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and PPE usage
  • Assist with loading/unloading doors and staging for production
  • Perform touch-ups and rework as necessary

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and follow work orders and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and sanding equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move doors (50–100 lbs with assistance if needed)
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions
  • Comfortable working in a paint shop environment (fumes, noise, PPE required)

Work Environment

  • Warehouse / production setting
  • Exposure to paints, stains, and finishing chemicals
