As a Dishwasher, you wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand. Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition. Monitor other areas i.e. catering, kitchen and employee lounge. Assist in the day to day operation of the kitchen by being a team player. Dishwashers may have freight duties as well. If on freight duty, on freight delivery days— make sure that all storage areas are organized and ready to stock. Break down boxes, make sure stocking follows all regulations and procedures (keep food items off the floors in all walk-ins & dry storage, label items with dates and rotate products using the FIFO method).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Separate dirty dishes, glass, and flatware delivered on bus trays and/or bus tubs.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment, proper use of chemicals and safety procedures.
  • Use proper measurements of detergent and sanitizer in the dish machine.
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.
  • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
  • Clean garbage cans with water or steam.
  • Clean and organize work station to ensure that proper sanitation standards are maintained.
  • Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars.
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly fashion.
  • May assist with Freight duties described above; requires flexible schedule based on vendor delivery schedules.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Must follow all safety and sanitation rules and regulations.
  • Follow all general and department policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • No experience necessary
  • Knowledge of basic dish machine operations preferred.
  • Must possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests and other team members.
  • Able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions.
  • Strong organization, prioritization and multiple-tasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to adjust to change in a positive manner.
