Job Summary

Altura Concepts is seeking dependable, detail-oriented, and motivated Prep Cooks to support kitchen operations across our family offull-service restaurants, lounges, and fast-casual concepts. Prep Cooks play a critical role in ensuring kitchen efficiency by preparing ingredients, maintaining organization, and supporting the culinary team in delivering high-quality food. The ideal candidate is committed to food safety, consistency, and teamwork while thriving in a fast-paced kitchen environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare ingredients according to company recipes and specifications, including chopping, slicing, portioning, marinating, and measuring.
  • Wash, peel, cut, and prepare vegetables, fruits, meats, seafood, and other ingredients.
  • Prepare sauces, dressings, soups, stocks, and other recipes as directed.
  • Properly label, date, rotate, and store all food items using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked prep stations throughout each shift.
  • Assist line cooks by ensuring ingredients are readily available during service.
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Receive, inspect, and properly store food deliveries according to company standards.
  • Monitor food quality and notify management of any concerns regarding freshness or product quality.
  • Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely, including slicers, mixers, food processors, and other prep equipment.
  • Assist with opening, side work, and closing duties as assigned.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with chefs, line cooks, dishwashers, and management to support efficient kitchen operations.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent Altura Concepts with integrity and professionalism.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Previous prep cook, line cook, or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety.
