Job description

Overview:

Position: Travel OR Charge Nurse 

Location: Lewsiton, Maine

Department: OR/Surgery

Shifts Available: Days and Nights

Pay: up to $1,657โ€“$2,297 gross pay per week; equivalent to $41.44โ€“ $57.43 per hour.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversees OR operations and nursing staff during assigned shifts.
  • Ensures safe, high-quality patient care and compliance with regulations and hospital policies.
  • Manages staffing, scheduling, and daily assignments.Supervises, coaches, and supports staff development and performance.
  • Assists with performance management and HR-related activities.
  • Monitors supplies, equipment, and department readiness.Coordinates surgical services, patient flow, and care transitions.
  • Addresses patient care concerns and escalates issues through the appropriate chain of command.
  • Rounds with patients and families to support a positive patient experience.
  • Provides direct patient care as needed to maintain safe staffing and patient care standards.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  1. Current and valid state RN License
  2. Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  3. Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  4. Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting required.
  5. PALS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  6. Previous supervisory experience, required.
  7. Previous supervisory experience, one to two years, in acute care hospital Surgical OR setting, required.
  8. Competency in Sedation Monitoring upon hire and maintain current.
