Job Title
Plant Team Lead (Midstream)
ROLE SYNOPSIS:
The Plant Team Lead is responsible for the safe, reliable, compliant, and efficient operation of natural gas and oil processing facilities within the Permian Midstream organization. This leadership role provides direct oversight of plant operations personnel, drives operational excellence, ensures compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, and fosters a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The Plant Team Lead serves as the primary operational leader for assigned facilities and is accountable for production optimization, personnel development, regulatory compliance, emergency response readiness, and implementation of company operating standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Safety & Compliance
  • Lead and promote a strong HSSE culture while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure safe execution of work through effective utilization of Control of Work processes.

  • Drive operational process safety risk identification, mitigation, and escalation.

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA PSM requirements and other applicable regulations.

  • Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

  • Respond to emergency situations and provide operational leadership during emergency events.

Operations Leadership
  • Responsible for safe and reliable daily operations of gas processing, compression, produced water, oil stabilization, and associated facility systems.

  • Optimize facility performance while ensuring product specifications and operational targets are achieved.

  • Provide operational input during facility design, construction, commissioning, and startup activities.

  • Accountable for handover, Management of Change (MOC), and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) processes.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain operating procedures for startup, shutdown, and routine operations.

  • Monitor operational performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development for operations personnel.

  • Drive operator training, qualification, and competency assurance programs.

  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, reliability, accountability, and teamwork.

  • Conduct regular performance and development discussions with team members.

  • Collaborate effectively with maintenance, engineering, projects, HSSE, and other support teams.

Reliability & Maintenance Support
  • Support maintenance planning and work management processes.

  • Participate in risk assessments and provide technical input to operational and maintenance activities.

  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and root cause investigations.

  • Drive reliability improvements and support asset integrity initiatives.

Business & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate operational reporting and documentation.

  • Support operational budgeting and execution of business plans.

  • Implement and maintain Operating Management System (OMS) requirements.

  • Support optimization efforts to improve facility performance and business results.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum 5 years of oil and gas, midstream, or related industrial operations experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience supervising operations personnel.

  • Experience working in PSM-regulated facilities.

  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and pipeline operations.

  • Strong understanding of process safety principles and risk management.

  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and technical drawings.

  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience leading natural gas processing and compression facilities.

  • Experience supporting facility startups, commissioning, and expansion projects.

  • Knowledge of MOC, PSSR, and operational readiness processes.

  • Experience developing operating procedures and training programs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Field-based work at natural gas processing facilities.

  • Exposure to industrial environments and outdoor conditions.

  • Emergency response and after-hours operational support as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to walk, climb ladders, and navigate industrial facilities.

  • Ability to wear required PPE.

  • Ability to lift equipment and work in varying weather conditions.

LOCATION & SCHEDULE:
  • Location: Permian Basin (Orla, Texas area).

  • Position based at the Central Control Room and associated operating facilities.

  • 14 days on / 14 days off rotational schedule.

  • Company vehicle provided.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
How much do we pay (Base)?
$143,000.00 - 168,000.00 USD Annual
