Job description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Clerk to join our team. This role requires strong verbal and written communication skills, effective interpersonal abilities, and excellent time management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical thinking, sound problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to apply specialized knowledge acquired through prior experience or formal training in payroll, benefits administration, and human resources functions across multiple locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support payroll processing and related procedures
  • Assist with employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and employee inquiries
  • Maintain benefit records and ensure accurate deductions are reflected in payroll
  • Coordinate benefit eligibility, enrollment communications, and annual open enrollment activities
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and work with benefit providers to resolve discrepancies
  • Conduct research and compile information as needed to support payroll, benefits, and HR-related requests
  • Manage and update multiple HR Excel spreadsheets and tracking tools
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, emailing, and other document management
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with company policies and applicable payroll and benefits regulations
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, and/or human resources preferred
  • Prior experience in retail, wholesale, or industrial environments preferred
  • Working knowledge of ADP payroll processing and Employee Navigator benefits administration preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
