What You'll Do:

Responsible for driving a designated route to load and/or unload fuel in a safe and timely manner.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operates a one-ton or larger service vehicle with a crane to move propane tanks. Handles, inspects, certifies and fills small propane tanks.
  • Drives a designated route to load and/or unload fuel in a safe and timely manner.
  • Delivers propane to customers and sets up new propane systems as needed.
  • Performs various customer service activities as needed including scheduling work with customers, performing propane pressure tests for customers and communicating with customers and finding solutions for system deficiencies.
  • Tracks and reorders inventory. Completes paperwork and updates information into computer tracking systems. Understands and implements company, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications

Education & Credentials:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience operating tractor-trailer equipment, preferably in one or more of the following areas: propane, natural gas, pipefitting, plumbing, crane and/or boom truck.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.

Other:

  • Must possess a class A or class B CDL with the following endorsements: (a) X -Tank/Hazardous Materials, (b) Doubles or Triples, and meet the current driver qualifications as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Also required is a current medical certificate.

Competencies:

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to demonstrate effective customer services skills. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to mentor, coach, train and supervise employees. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment. Knowledge of and the ability to safely operate and/or maintain machinery, tools and equipment.

Working Conditions:

Works both inside an office environment and also outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
