DESCRIPTION
The Director of International Predictive Customer Engagement (IPCE) leads an analytics organization responsible for transforming customer engagement in international markets through advanced AI, predictive modeling, and omnichannel orchestration to drive competitive advantage and analytically informed decision making.
This role operates as a strategic consulting partner for international commercial leadership, driving enterprise-wide innovation, measurable business impact, and scalable AI capabilities across our international markets.
The position requires strong leadership to connect analytics with business outcomes, govern complex multi-market delivery, and steer the evolution of next-generation engagement capabilities with both ML and GenAI.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Vision
  • Define and execute the international strategy for predictive customer engagement, including existing predictive customer engagement solutions and next-generation AI-driven engagement capabilities
  • Establish roadmap for AI/ML, GenAI, and omnichannel orchestration aligned with commercial priorities
  • Serve as a thought leader in AI-driven customer engagement and represent the organization in industry forums

Business Impact & Value Delivery
  • Drive measurable business outcomes through predictive models, engagement strategies, and operational efficiency improvements
  • Translate complex analytics into actionable commercial insights for senior leadership
  • Ensure continuous optimization through test-and-learn and closed-loop feedback mechanisms

Global Team Leadership & Capability Building
  • Lead and scale a high-performing, globally distributed data science organization
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning
  • Build consulting capabilities within the team to act as trusted advisors to markets

Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Partnership
  • Serve as the primary bridge between analytics, commercial leaders, and cross-functional teams (Business Leaderships, Commercial Excellence, Commercial IT, Data and Cloud Engineering and other stakeholders)
  • Establish strong partnerships with market leadership to co-create solutions and align priorities
  • Facilitate executive-level discussions on brand strategy and engagement optimization

Product & Solution Innovation
  • Drive development and deployment of predictive models and AI solutions (e.g., Next Best Action predictive models, GenAI applications)
  • Lead integration with enterprise platforms (CRM, marketing automation, data platforms)
  • Champion adoption of innovative methodologies, including agentic AI and explainable AI
Governance, Operating Model & Delivery Excellence
  • Establish governance frameworks for demand intake, prioritization, and delivery across markets
  • Ensure alignment across matrix teams and enforce execution discipline
  • Mitigate delivery risks across multi-market initiatives through structured oversight

Continuous Improvement & Scaling
  • Lead expansion of IPCE capabilities across new markets and business areas
  • Promote reuse of frameworks and standardized methodologies for scalability
  • Drive ongoing innovation through monitoring industry trends and emerging technologies
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • BA/BS required (quantitative area of study preferred)
  • MBA/other graduate degree preferred
Experience
  • 7+ years of experience in advanced analytics, AI/ML
  • Proven experience in leading large, complex projects with leadership of global, cross-functional analytics teams
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or highly regulated industries preferred

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Python/R, SQL, Tableau/Power BI, and MS Office Suite
  • Predictive modeling, machine learning, and AI-driven decision systems
  • Hands on experience with designing and deploying machine learning models using Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch etc. is preferred
  • Generative and Agentic AI and advanced analytics frameworks

Compensation Overview:
Princeton - NJ - US: $197,800 - $239,681
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off
  • US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)
  • Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays

Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.
All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.
*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
