Waldinger / Pro Electric has an opportunity for a qualified Preconstruction Planning & Design Specialist our Kansas City Office.

Job Summary:
Leads preconstruction planning and coordination to support establish standardized design for manufacturing and installation workflows. Partners with project and field teams to define scope, align develop installation strategies, and develop produce fabrication-ready deliverables that improve consistency, productivity, and schedule performance. Drives collaboration across planning, design, and field execution to ensure work is coordinated, prepared in advance of installation, and aligned with project objectives.

Responsibilities:
• Define Scope, Scheduling and Planning: Leads preconstruction planning by partnering with project teams to define scope, establish workflows, and prepare upcoming phases of work. Facilitates planning activities several weeks in advance of installation to identify key deliverables, constraints, and sequencing requirements to ensuring project readiness and execution alignment. Develops and maintains installation planning schedules that define project phasing, durations, dependencies, delivery strategies and site logistics. Monitors project constraints and adjusts plans to support efficient workflow, resource utilization, and schedule performance.
• Estimating and Budget Alignment: Develops production-based cost estimates as project scope evolves. Collaborates with project teams to support budget updates, forecasting, and cost planning while ensuring estimates align with planned installation strategies, fabrication methods and project objectives.
• Layout and Design Coordination: Develops layout point-to-point drawings and conduit matrices that define system layout, installation intent, and prefabrication requirements. Provides the foundational design information used by detailers to complete project drawings and documentation. Performs QA/QC reviews of detailed deliverables to verify accuracy, constructability, and compliance with company standards and project objectives
• Installation Design and Deliverables: Leads development of standardized installation drawings and fabrication ready work packages and build schedules. Translates project scope into clear, actionable executable deliverables for field execution and that support prefabrication, field installation and. Ensures consistency consistent application of with standard work and installation practices. Develops fabrication-ready installation packages that provide field teams with complete and actionable work instructions. Coordinates material requirements, fabrication needs, workflow sequencing, and installation strategies to ensure work is fully planned prior to execution.
• Field and Project Team Coordination: Coordinates with field leadership, project managers, key stakeholders, detailers, and fabrication teams to define means and methods, validate constructability, align installation strategies, and resolve planning issues. Participates in planning meetings, job site walks, and coordination efforts to maintain alignment expectations throughout planning and project execution.
• Continuous Improvement and Standardization: Drives continuous improvement by developing standardized work processes, design practices, and prefabrication strategies. Incorporates field feedback and project lessons learned  to enhance planning methodologies, tools, templates, and work instructions.

Requirements:
• 5-8 years of construction, preconstruction, VDC, or related field
• Associate's Degree or Revit/CAD certification or equivalent experience, including an electrical apprenticeship program
