Job Summary
The Precision Technology Specialist provides consulting services, expertise, and training for the sale and support of solutions enabled by the John Deere Integrated Solutions strategy and other aligned technology and applications as well as ensures ongoing Precision Ag mainstreaming, working with all dealership departments to sell and support precision farming products and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the execution of the dealership's Integrated Solutions strategy (Machine Optimization, Logistics Optimization, and Ag Precision Support)
  • Develops and executes the plan to ensure ongoing Precision Ag mainstreaming across all departments at the dealership
  • Assists in leading the organization in the area of John Deere precision farming products and services
  • Ensures understanding of John Deere Integrated solutions and precision farming products in sales, service, parts, and all other departments within assigned locations
  • Serves as the internal and external technical specialist for all precision farming products
  • Implements the adoption of new technology and product offerings
  • Develops and delivers employee and customer training for John Deere Integrated solutions and advanced precision farming products in collaboration with Precision Ag Training Specialist
  • Provides solutions-based business consulting services to customers (i.e. advising customers on optimizing performance, reducing costs, operation efficiencies, etc.)
  • May also support the dealership efforts with third-party providers (Certified Crop Advisor, Ag Service Provider, etc.) and related John Deere businesses
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Business or Agriculture Technology preferred, a minimum of an Associate's degree in these subjects or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 1+ years of experience in an agriculture-related role
  • Dealership sales, service, training, or other related work experience preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of electrical and wireless communication systems
  • Ability to operate with a solutions approach and identify existing/emerging customer needs
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Solid organizational, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel to store locations and customers
  • Must be an excellent communicator, orally and in writing, with the ability to communicate to employees and partners at all levels
  • Must be highly organized and a strong attention to detail
  • Must be a strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate opportunities, create proactive strategies, and manage them through successful execution
  • Excellent influence and collaboration skills are a must
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the company's fleet driver selection and safety program
  • Travel of approximately 50% is required
