Trane Technologies is looking for Toolmakers/Machinists (A/B) in our Tyler Texas location.
  • 2nd and 3rd shift, with overtime
  • Pay for this position as a Toolmaker A is $34.98/hour or as a Toolmaker B $33.03/hour, along with $1.00/hour shift differential.

** This is a full time, direct hire position with Trane Technologies (not a temp position)

Job Responsibilities:
As a Toolmaker/Machinist, you'll develop, make, modify, and repair complicated tools that help us build the world-class product we're known for. These tools may include jibs, fixtures, and all types of combination and progressive dies for piercing, blanking, and drawing. The responsibilities listed may be modified depending on job requirements and business needs.
  • Make complex set-ups on a variety of tool room machinery
  • Exercise extreme accuracy and skill as you work from plans such as drawings, sketches, instructions, and blueprints
  • Make sketches of modifications made to parts for print updating

Qualifications Toolmaker A:
  • Graduate Apprentice with 4 plus years of practical experience; or Toolmaker/Machinist B with 2 plus years' experience in die making and repair work
  • You'll have worked successfully on complex toolmaking projects
  • You'll have used complex shop math (including trigonometry) and have working knowledge of a tool room, production machines and methods

Qualifications Toolmaker B:
  • Graduate Apprentice (or 6 years documented equivalent experience with a variety of equipment); or Toolmaker/Machinist C with one-year practical related experience in die making and repair work.
  • Must evidence ability in shop math, including trigonometry.
  • Must be able to make complex set ups on a variety of tool room machinery.
  • Must have demonstrated performance and ability to perform work of a difficult nature
  • Must commit to completion of the following technical college courses from an accredited college or university (or equivalent courses approved in advance by maintenance unit manager) over a two-year period: Computer Aided Design (CAD), Numerical Control (NC)

OR
  • Graduate of a two-year formal technical program from an accredited college or university in precision machining technology or an equivalent program (as determined by the company), with proof of completion of the following coursework; Basic Math, Trigonometry, Basic Welding, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Numeric Control (NC), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM)
