DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Fabricate and assemble stairs, ladders, and other miscellaneous metal components according to blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Operate fabrication machinery such as saws, shears, press brakes, and welders with precision and safety.
  • Interpret and follow technical drawings, shop tickets, and specifications accurately.
  • Maintain a high level of craftsmanship while meeting tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other fabricators to ensure timely and accurate completion of jobs.
  • Perform layout, cutting, fitting, welding, and finishing of various metal components.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure adherence to company and client standards.
  • Assist with troubleshooting fabrication issues and proposing practical solutions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Adapt to changing project requirements and schedules without compromising on quality.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in metal fabrication, especially with miscellaneous steel.
  • Proficiency in FCAW welding (certifications preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed shop drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials, up to 50lbs and work in industrial environments.
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
  • Be able to handle a fast-paced work environment and switch from Job to Job to meet sometimes tight schedules.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Subject to inside environmental conditions: dust and foreign particles, welding fumes, exhaust fumes, paint fumes, etc.
  • Exposure to loud noises, moving mechanical parts and electrical shock risk.
