The practice is a full-service general dermatology, surgical, and cosmetics practice. This is a part-time or full-time Mohs Surgeon role for 2-3-4 days per week. We typically schedule 10 cases/day and can adjust our patient volume higher or lower to your comfort level. You will be supported by an experienced administrative and clinical team that scribe and perform clinical administrative tasks freeing you to focus on patients.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mohs Surgeon MD/DO to join our dermatologic surgery team in Ponchatoula on a part-time or full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced physician to contribute to our organization's commitment to providing exceptional skin cancer treatment and surgical care to our patients. The ideal candidate will bring precision, analytical expertise, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient outcomes in a collaborative healthcare environment.

  • Perform Mohs micrographic surgical procedures with precision and efficiency, including tumor removal and tissue mapping
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and consultations to determine appropriate surgical treatment plans
  • Interpret histopathological specimens and analyze tissue samples to ensure complete tumor removal
  • Maintain detailed and organized patient records, including surgical notes and pathology documentation
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and surgical technicians to ensure smooth surgical operations and patient safety
  • Provide post-operative care instructions and follow-up consultations to monitor patient healing and outcomes
  • Stay current with advancements in dermatologic surgery techniques and best practices
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements, quality standards, and organizational policies
  • Contribute to a professional and supportive clinical environment that prioritizes patient care excellence
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Fellowship Trained, Board certification or eligibility in Dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery
  • Active, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Louisiana
  • Demonstrated experience performing Mohs micrographic surgical procedures
  • Strong knowledge of dermatologic pathology and surgical oncology principles
  • Proficiency in surgical techniques, tissue interpretation, and microscopic analysis
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient and team interaction
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to surgical precision and patient safety
  • Ability to work efficiently in a part-time capacity while maintaining high clinical standards
  • Preferred: Additional training or certification in advanced dermatologic surgical techniques
Additional Information

As a part-time position this can be a 1099 or W2 role. We will compensate you with a percent of collections for patients seen.ย
