Key responsibilities

  • Assist in equipment installs, service calls, and maintaining inventory for Precision Ag equipment.

  • Support customer interactions by preparing and delivering products, executing sales calls, and assisting with data collection and software service calls.

  • Contribute to marketing activities, promote products and services, and assist in maintaining signage and participating in grower events.


Job description

The Precision Ag Specialist Intern assists in promoting and servicing the proper use of crop protection products, plant food, seed, precision, and other services offered at Key Cooperative to area producers by building customer relationships that help grow agronomy sales for Key Cooperative.

Equipment Installs & Serviceย 

  • Assist CENTROL team in completing equipment installs on, but not limited to, planters, tractors, combines and sprayers.ย 
  • Assist the CENTROL team with in field service calls on, but not limited to, planters, tractors, combines and sprayers.ย 
  • Assist the CENTROL team in maintaining the Precision Ag inventory which includes completing parts runs and deliveries as well as assisting with inventory counts.ย 
  • Assist the CENTROL team in following up on Precision Ag equipment performance. This would include equipment inspections as well as plant stand evaluations.ย 

Customer Contacts & Ordersย 

  • Assist Precision Ag Specialists and locational staff in preparing and delivering product to customers.ย 
  • Execute sales calls with guidance from the Precision Ag Specialists and the Precision Ag Managers.
  • Adhere to Key Cooperative pricing policies and credit terms.ย 
  • Assist the Precision Ag Specialists in making service calls on Precision Ag software and date collection at the farm.ย 
  • Assist the Precision Ag Specialist and Data Manager in collecting data and scrubbing of data which includes, but is not limited to, planting, application and yield data.

Marketing and Promotionsย 

  • Contribute to Key Cooperative promotional and marketing activities to generate leads for our sales process.ย 
  • Assist the Precision Ag Specialist field days and other grower events.ย 
  • Install and maintain field signage such as, but not limited to, Precision Planting and CENTROL signs.
  • Call on customers to promote products and services.ย 
  • Promote and support the Key Cooperative Agronomy/CENTROL Precision Ag program.

  • Assist in maintaining Key Cooperative facilities and equipment.ย 
  • Read and follow company employee policies.ย 
  • Accept additional responsibilities as directed by the Precision Ag Manager and Precision Ag Specialists.

Customer Serviceย 

  • Keep the Precision Ag manager informed of operational, customer, vendors, or employee issues that may arise.ย 
  • Promote the business with existing and potential customers.ย 
  • Project a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times; exhibit good customer relations skills.ย 

Safety & Organizationย 

  • Assist in keeping all inside and outside work areas extremely neat and orderly.ย 
  • Continuously follow the company employee safety guidelines, policies, and safety programs established by Key Cooperative.ย
