Job description

Job Title: Shipping Specialist
Department: Shipping & Logistics
Reports To: Shipping Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Northfield; this position will move to Lakeville MN in the future

Position Summary:

The Shipping Specialist is responsible for preparing, palletizing, and organizing components and products for shipment in compliance with company procedures and safety standards. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to instructions and diagrams, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accountability for assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Palletize and package components and products in accordance with shipping requirements.
  • Construct pallets in a safe and secure manner.
  • Read and interpret prints, diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Track, record, and organize inventory accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in designated shipping areas.
  • Work independently and ensure assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision or management.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Ability to remain standing and physically active throughout scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, diagrams, and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Dependable and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and successfully complete company-provided forklift training and certification.
  • Ability to learn and safely operate overhead and mobile cranes. Company-provided training and certification will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in shipping, warehouse, or related manufacturing environment.

Finalists for this position will be required to successfully complete a background check. Candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening before beginning employment.
