Upon acceptance of offer, we will coordinate new hire paperwork and pre-employment substance abuse screening (Drug Free Employer).
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Performing routine tests as required on raw materials in process components and final product. Participate in the validation of tests, inspection, processing methods and material qualifications. Position requires a wide variety of Quality Control functions including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Performing preventive maintenance and calibration of all quality control testing equipment
  • Performing general housekeeping duties associated with the quality control laboratory
  • Performing NYSDOT QC/QA testing on Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA)
  • Performing aggregate sieve analysis of all materials produced by a quarry
  • Ensuring adherence to company and government safety standards and regulation
  • Other duties assigned by quality control manager

Essential functions of the position:
  • Perform a variety of tasks that will include having to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods of time, stretch, walk, climb, and bend under potentially adverse field conditions and be able to perform visual tasks such as back up spotting and hear and react to back up alarms, per safety protocol.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Experience with construction materials preferred but not required
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills - Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others in a team
  • HMA certifications and aggregate testing preferred but not required
  • Must be willing to travel when required
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary
  • Must have a clean valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen (Drug Free Employer)

Compensation:Competitive wage commensurate with experience. Excellent benefit package including company paid health, dental and vision insurance with a company-funded retirement plan.
Hourly Range: $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
