Purpose of the role

The Senior Director, Social (Organic) leads organic social strategy and execution across priority client accounts—especially in cybersecurity and technology. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who can drive growth through platform-native creative, algorithm fluency, and a rigorous test-and-learn mindset.

You will serve as a day-to-day senior client lead for social, partner closely with creative and paid media teams, and work with analysts to translate performance signals into clear actions that improve outcomes and expand account value.

Key responsibilities and tasks

Social Strategy & Growth Leadership

  • Own organic social strategies that map to business goals (reputation, credibility, community growth, engagement quality, and support for demand).

  • Build channel plans (primarily LinkedIn, with additional platforms as needed): content pillars, editorial calendars, and publishing cadences.

  • Lead a disciplined test-and-learn program (hypothesis → experiment → readout → iteration) to improve performance over time.

  • Stay current on platform changes and social algorithms, translating shifts into practical guidance for content, cadence, and format choices.

Content & Creative Partnership (Player/Coach)

  • Partner with creative teams (copy, design, video) to develop social-first concepts and platform-native storytelling.

  • Provide strong quality control and feedback loops to elevate craft and performance.

  • Be hands-on where needed—reviewing drafts, refining hooks, improving creative for distribution, and shaping final outputs.

Integrated Collaboration (Paid + Analytics)

  • Collaborate with paid media teams to align organic content with amplification opportunities and learnings (what to boost, what to replicate, what to retire).

  • Interface with analysts/insights partners to interpret performance and turn data into action (content direction, audience focus, experimentation priorities).

  • Contribute to integrated programs across PR, influencer, events, and digital—ensuring social is cohesive and commercially relevant.

Client Leadership & Account Excellence

  • Lead day-to-day senior client relationships for organic social: clear communication, expectation setting, and confident recommendations.

  • Define KPIs and success measures appropriate to the program (growth, engagement quality, share of voice, content effectiveness).

  • Identify and recommend opportunities to expand impact and scope (new workstreams, new formats, new stakeholder groups).

Commercial Acumen

  • Manage delivery against scope, ensuring efficient resourcing and strong client value.

  • Understand how social work connects to account health (retention, satisfaction, and expansion), escalating risks early and proposing solutions.

  • Support new business and upsell motions through smart POVs, clear strategic thinking, and credible social growth plans (without owning overall agency new business targets).

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentor and develop junior team members; raise the bar on platform knowledge, creative effectiveness, and operational rigor.

  • Contribute to training, templates, and best practices that make the team more consistent and scalable.

  • Support talent needs with hiring input and onboarding, as required.

About you

  • 8-10+ years of relevant social experience (agency preferred), with clear ownership of organic social strategy and performance outcomes.

  • Experience leading growth for enterprise social accounts (complex stakeholders, governance, brand risk) and helping scale startup/challenger profiles (speed, experimentation, rapid iteration).

  • Deep understanding of organic social algorithms and distribution mechanics, especially LinkedIn; strong POV on formats, cadence, and what drives sustained reach.

  • Demonstrated test-and-learn mindset with examples of experimentation that led to measurable performance improvement.

  • Proven cross-functional collaborator with creative, paid media, and analytics/insights partners.

  • Strong client-ready communication: can influence, present, and defend recommendations with clarity.

  • Commercially minded and operationally strong—can manage multiple workstreams without sacrificing quality.
