Job description

SUMMARY
PRCA is seeking a professional, responsible, and adaptable individual to serve as a Part-Time Bus Driver and Fleet Specialist. This role is essential to our school's daily operations, facilitating the safe transport of students for inter-campus shuttles, educational field trips, and athletic competitions. Beyond driving duties, the successful candidate will oversee the general upkeep and safety of the school's vehicle fleet. The position is 20 hours a week from August to May.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Student Transportation: Provide safe and timely transport for K-12 students between campuses and to various off-site events.
  • Fleet Oversight: Conduct regular safety inspections and perform basic preventative maintenance for a fleet comprising both CDL and non-CDL vehicles.
  • Operational Flexibility: Adapt to a monthly planned schedule that includes daytime routes, evening events, and occasional overnight trips.
  • Student Engagement: Maintain a calm, authoritative, and positive presence, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all student passengers.

Requirements
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Licensure: Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) Endorsement.
  • Driving History: Provision of a clean 39-month motor vehicle record (MVR).
  • Compliance: Ability to pass a mandatory State of Arizona background check and fingerprint clearance.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated knowledge of basic automotive mechanics and vehicle safety standards.
  • Safety Certification: Current CPR/First Aid certification is strongly preferred.
