Job description

Are you searching for a way to make a positive difference in the lives of others?

You can be a source of support to those in the final part of their journey. Signature Hospice invites you to share your compassionate heart with patients and families in your community. Our patients will benefit from your comforting presence.

The Signature Hospice Volunteer - Companionship is what you will provide. It is displayed in ways -- playing music; reading prayer, stories, or poetry; enjoying pet videos; watching a movie or TV show together; working on a puzzle; bringing in nature; singing; or holding a hand in gentle silence. Your presence will also function as an advocate for those who are unable to let their needs known. Hospice is about quality of life in each moment. You can help bring in this quality. Your service will be 1-4 hours a week.

We also provide Pet Therapy with certified dogs. We can help with the process of getting your dog certified for pet therapy.

The first step is to contact me and meet at your favorite coffee shop where we will talk about hospice and what volunteering entails. Let us start the conversation.

    • Training is at your pace. Our volunteer training will help deepen your awareness of hospice philosophy and your role in providing companionship and support. Please join our outstanding hospice team for this rewarding work!

There are three levels of orientation. Each focusing on details to help you serve in the hospice team. We follow all CMS/CDC/State guidelines on safety, testing, background/driver checks, and tb test.
