Job description

Our Prayer Advocates exist to ensure that as long as our headquarters is open, intentional, focused prayer is being offered for the people, work, and global mission of Every Home. Prayer Advocates carry the needs of the ministry before the Lord with consistency, discretion, and faith—standing on behalf of others in prayer. In addition to intercession, this role contributes to the broader vision of Every Home as a place of prayer and refuge—welcoming and serving those who come to seek God’s presence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Every Home for Christ.
    • Adheres to the Biblical standards of moral conduct,Every Home for Christ Christian Community Conduct, Every Home for Christ vision statement, Every Home for Christ statement of faith, Every Home for Christ’s Employee standards and policies, Every Home for Christ’s Covenant of Harmony, and Enduring Foundations and continuously upholds the ministry in prayer.
    • Participates in our Christ – centered community through working in the HQ office and actively demonstrate Every Home cultural values.

Sustain a Consistent Prayer Covering

  • Faithfully carry the needs of Every Home’s global work, staff, and ministry initiatives in prayer before the Lord
  • Commit to scheduled weekly prayer shifts as part of a 40-hour weekly prayer rhythm
  • Utilize structured prayer lists and prompts provided by the Local Ministry team
  • Engage both guided and Spirit-led prayer with attentiveness and discernment
  • Occasionally facilitate guided times of prayer (individual or small group)
  • Serve under the direction of the Sr. Director of Local Ministry

Support a Culture of Prayer and Refuge

  • Contribute to the vision of Every Home Global HQ as a place of prayer and action through the faithful commitment and service in prayer.
  • Help maintain a welcoming, peaceful, and spiritually attentive environment through communication and invitations to others to participate in our set times of prayer

Practice Confidentiality and Integrity

  • Hold in close confidentiality sensitive prayer needs with discretion and trustworthiness
  • Represent the ministry with maturity, humility, and spiritual attentiveness

Maintain a Set-Apart Prayer Environment

  • Serve in a designated prayer grotto reserved for prayer on behalf of Every Home
  • When leading or being present in various prayer spaces, assist with cultivating a quiet, focused, and spiritually attentive atmosphere; ensuring the environment remains aligned

Assist in Hosting Guests

  • Offer a simple, gracious presence to leaders, staff, and visitors who come to pray
  • Be available to provide tours and explanation of Every Home vision, prayer center and involvement in the community
  • Serve in other areas as requested

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Regularly attends/participates in a local church
  • Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in prayer ministry, ministry hosting, prayer facilitation
  • Possess the desire to spread the Gospel
  • Demonstrates a passion for the mission of Every Home for Christ
  • Demonstrates a mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Strong, consistent personal prayer life
  • Ability to remain attentive, present, and faithful in extended times of prayer
  • Alignment with the mission and values of Every Home for Christ
  • Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Dependable and consistent with time commitments
  • Hospitable, attentive, and able to engage others with warmth and humility
  • Teachable and responsive to leadership direction
  • Familiarity with structured or liturgical prayer rhythms
  • Understand and follow Every Home for Christ’s Theological Hospitality
  • Believes strongly in the prayer ministry of Every Home for Christ and the role of covering the mission in prayer before the Lord
  • Always communicating in humility and service
  • Effective communication skills that span generations, Christian church denominations, and cultures
  • Ability to speak publicly and engage audiences in Every Home for Christ prayer community
  • Must be able to commit to a consistent schedule M-F
  • The role is part-time. Candidates should be available for 5-20 hours per week on consistent days M-F. Hours per week will be based on candidate availability. This can be discussed in further detail.
