Job description

OVERSEES: For the Nations Leadership Team (Partnerships, Intake & Equipping, Trips, Prayer, Stories, Campus Champions)

HOURS: Full-Time, Exempt

TIME REQUIREMENTS: Sunday to Thursday, some events

EFFECTIVE DATE: August-September 2026

Role Summary

Resonate Church exists to make disciples who make disciples who make much of Jesus — including to the ends of the earth. The For the Nations Director leads Resonate's global mission efforts by building and empowering a central leadership team, cultivating international partnerships, mobilizing short-term trip teams, and integrating global mission into the discipleship pathway. This role ensures that every Resonate disciple understands their part in the global story of God — whether they go, give, pray, or send.

Key Responsibilities Vision and Direction
  • Guide vision, strategy, and execution for global mission across Resonate campuses.
  • Align global mission with central and campus discipleship goals, ensuring it integrates into the broader discipleship pathway.
  • Cast vision for global discipleship — helping every Resonate disciple see themselves as part of God's global story.
  • Ensure For the Nations reflects Resonate's commitment to cross-cultural, long-term disciple-making — not just short-term trips.
  • Work closely with the For the City Director to ensure local and global missions are integrated and mutually reinforcing in Resonate's discipleship pathway.
What success looks like:
  • Every Resonate disciple understands their role in global mission — going, giving, praying, or sending.
  • Global mission is integrated into discipleship, not a standalone program.
For the Nations Leadership Team
  • Build, lead, develop, and empower a central For the Nations leadership team responsible for Partnerships, Intake & Equipping, Trips, Prayer, Stories, and Campus Champions.
  • The primary role of the For the Nations Director is to develop this leadership team — not to personally execute every function, but to ensure the team is healthy, aligned, and moving the mission forward.
  • Provide regular investment, coaching, and accountability for each team leader.
  • Recruit and develop new leaders into the team as the ministry grows.
  • Represent For the Nations in Central Discipleship Team planning and ELT updates.
What success looks like:
  • A healthy, empowered leadership team is driving the For the Nations ministry forward — not just the Director.
  • Each function (Partnerships, Trips, Prayer, etc.) has clear ownership and is producing fruit.
  • Team leaders are growing, developing others, and not burning out.
Partnership Development & Stewardship
  • Identify, cultivate, and assess global ministry partners that align with Resonate's mission, theology, and values.
  • Develop the strategy for where Resonate invests intentionally: which partners, which regions, and what long-term gospel impact looks like.
  • Maintain and steward the For the Nations budget, ensuring financial investment into partnerships is purposeful, accountable, and advancing gospel expansion.
  • Build and maintain long-term partnerships that move beyond transactional trip relationships toward genuine co-laboring.
  • Regularly visit and evaluate field partners to ensure alignment, mutual flourishing, and faithful stewardship.
What success looks like:
  • Resonate has a clear, intentional partnership strategy with healthy long-term global relationships.
  • The budget is stewarded well and investments are producing measurable gospel fruit.
  • Partners view Resonate as a faithful, consistent, and gospel-aligned sending church.
  • Mobilize disciples across all campuses to engage in short-term trips and long-term sending.
  • Recruit, train, and equip trip teams — from first-time participants to experienced team leaders.
  • Build and support a campus-level champion network to ensure global mission is visible on every campus.
  • Ensure trip opportunities are accessible across ages, schedules, and experience levels.
  • Develop clear pathways for those who sense a call to long-term missions — including connection to sending agencies.
Senders, Prayer & Giving Culture
  • Develop a culture of sending at Resonate — where going is celebrated and staying to send is equally honored.
  • Build and lead a prayer mobilization effort for global mission.
  • Cultivate a giving culture that funds global partnerships and sends workers long-term.
  • Help disciples understand that sending, praying, and giving are acts of mission — not just support functions.
  • Champion the Seek First vision of 1,000 Resonate feet on foreign soil — not as a pressure target, but as a fulfilling picture of what it looks like for this church to go.
What success looks like:
  • Prayer for global mission is a regular, visible part of Resonate's rhythm.
  • Giving toward global mission is increasing and personally connected to real partnerships.
  • The 1,000 feet vision is creating excitement and momentum, drawing people toward going rather than obligating them.
Communications & Storytelling
  • Work with the Communications Team to share stories of transformed lives through global mission.
  • Ensure the Stories function is actively surfacing and telling what God is doing through For the Nations.
  • Ensure global partners are highlighted and prayed for across church platforms.
  • Build systems and metrics to track trip participation, giving, and long-term impact.
What success looks like:
  • Stories from the field are regularly shared and create missional momentum at Resonate.
  • The congregation knows the names of Resonate's global partners and prays for them.
Qualities & Qualifications:
  • Deep alignment with Resonate's theology, vision, values, and philosophy of ministry.
  • Demonstrated shepherd heart and genuine love for people — this role requires personal investment in a team, not just program management.
  • Demonstrated history of cross-cultural ministry, global partnership development, or missionary mobilization.
  • Strong relational, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Collaborative and winsome leader with at least five years of ministry leadership experience.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for partnership visits and trip leadership.
  • Covenant membership at Resonate Church.
As staff of Resonate Church we value:
  • Family — We live from our identity as beloved children of God and pursue His mission above our own agendas.
    • Beloved Children — Lived as loved
  • Team — We value unity, humility, honesty, and conversations that strengthen trust and alignment.
    • Missional Unity — Move Together
    • Kind Candor — Build Trust
  • Job — We take ownership, pursue excellence, and intentionally develop people and leaders.
