Prairie Materials owns and operates a network of concrete plants and aggregate facilities in Illinois and Indiana. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CDL TRUCK DRIVER
As a CDL Truck Driver, you drive a ready-mix truck to deliver concrete to the construction job sites of customers. Daily, you interact with customers on job sites during each pour. You keep great communication with the dispatcher in the case of scheduling issues such as traffic, slower than expected placement, difficult access or egress, or accidents. Committed to safety compliance, you always follow our policies and procedures. You enjoy helping our customers get their deliveries on time and ensuring they have a stress-free experience!

The minimum job requirements for the DOT positions are:
  • Must possess a minimum of a Class A or B CDL (with Airbrake Endorsement) without license restrictions
  • Preferred CDL Classification - "Non-Excepted Interstate"
  • Driven Commercial Vehicle - Minimum of 1 year
  • Manual Transmission Commercial Vehicle Experience
  • No more than 3 moving violations within 2 years
  • Good Employment Record
  • Must lift 50 - 100 lbs.
  • Able to climb ladders
  • Be available to work 6-days per week, up to 10 - 12 hours per day
