Practicum Assistant information

Is practicum the same as internship?

A practicum is a structured, supervised practical experience often part of an academic program, focusing on applying classroom knowledge in real-world settings. An internship is typically a work experience that may be paid or unpaid, providing hands-on industry exposure. While both involve practical training, a practicum is usually more integrated into coursework and assessment, whereas internships are often more independent work experiences.

How many hours is a practicum assistant?

A practicum assistant typically works between 10 to 20 hours per week, depending on the program requirements and the organization. The schedule may include evening or weekend hours to accommodate the practicum's educational and practical components.
