Job description

Secretary III - Crisis
This position will be located at our Crisis Center in Dothan, AL
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with rotating weekends. Travel is required between counties.
Responsibilities:
  • Crisis Center monthly reporting (this is a daily task)
  • Daily rounding at New Day, with weekend rotation-this includes rounding with the providers, notes, and billing
  • Admin review of Crisis charts
  • Assisting director with clerical duties to ensure patient needs are met
  • Will be responsible for coordinating MICRS, Gateway, New Day billing, and/or other hospital billing, program admissions and discharges
  • May be responsible for billing of crisis services as required by ADMH, SpectraCare Policy amp; Procedures, Medicaid, or other parties
  • May be responsible for completing insurance verification on patients
  • Generating/maintaining reports through EMR systems and other programs
  • Position will be the back up to Crisis Center secretary as needed
  • Position may be required to float in other programs as needed
  • Position may be required to train other program secretaries as needed
  • May be required to perform other duties as necessary.
  • Travel is required
Requirements:
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • At least (1) year experience in a medical office environment with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A valid drivers license with good MVR
  • Must also be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Successful completion of post-secondary courses in business, typing, business office practices or medical billing/coding is preferred.
  • OR at least one year work experience in a medical administrative role, completing insurance billing and verifications
