Dental Office Manager


POSITION SUMMARY

The Dental Office Manager is responsible for implementing the best practice and developing processes across the organization. The key fundamentals of this role include formulating strategy, improving performance, managing resources, and ensuring compliance. This is a leadership role that will mentor team members, increase patient service, and implement best practices across clinical locations. The successful candidate will possess a depth of experience that helps excel in the areas of compliance, efficiency, and profitability in a cross-functional approach to business growth.

OBJECTIVES

  • Manage all day-to-day operations of assigned locations including employee relations, patient relations, and achieving operational goals
  • Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices
  • Build effective relationships with doctors, upper management, and support team members
  • Serve as liaison between the corporate office and the location
  • Achieve revenue goals by effectively leading the office teams, patient scheduling, team productivity, and collections and receivables in a cost efficient way
  • Increase patient retention and support growth through marketing and promotional objectives
  • Maintain oversight at the practice level of overall office and team member hours daily and weekly in order to make effective staffing recommendations 
  • Analyze practice performance and recruit, train, inspire, and supervise team members
  • Oversee the management of dental material inventory, drive efficiencies to increase patient experience
  • Attend and participate in internal meetings and complete required training 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management


COMPETENCIES

  • Proven work experience as dental office manager or similar role in dentistry
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and dental operations management
  • Experience in budgeting and financial principles
  • Ability to inspire, influence, and coach teams to success
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in difficult and stressful situations
  • Experience successfully maintaining a positive attitude while working in a team environment with competing priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with individual interactions with team members and patients
  • Strong computer skills and highly proficient in MS Office Suite, Windows, Google Suite
  • Ability to think critically, in the assessment of materials that will help team understand new concepts and procedures
  • Outstanding organization and administrative accountability


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BS in Business, preferred
  • 5 years of multi-location management experience, preferably in the dental, medical, or retail space
  • Minimum (3) years of progressive leadership experience 
  • Current State Driver’s License & Clean Driving Record
  • Experience working with team members across multiple functional roles


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to spend prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk using a computer
  • Requires 75% travel between assigned offices
