Job Overview
If you have a passion for making a positive and lasting impact on healthcare projects in Northern California and beyond, an exciting opportunity awaits you. As a Project Manager, you will collaborate with their award-winning thought leaders on projects that require thoughtful planning, research, sustainability, and architectural innovation. The award-winning studio is seeking an individual who enjoys actively managing project teams and has the confidence to build long-term strategic relationships with healthcare clients in Northern California.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
  • Collaborate with the Principal to evaluate project requirements, negotiating acceptable owner-architect agreements, including fees and time schedules.
  • Demonstrate mastery in project scope, profitability, schedule, and budget, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and with maximum client satisfaction.
  • Negotiate critical issues with top-level architects, engineers, and officials of other organizations and firms.
  • Understand healthcare terminology as it relates to services, departments, and building types in the healthcare setting.
  • Manage design with respect to building systems, security, technology, and medical equipment specific to healthcare settings.
  • Monitor the quality of construction documents, providing coaching and communication as appropriate to team leaders and/or team members.
  • Develop discipline cost and work-hour budgets for each project, monitoring project costs and completion status against budget schedules.
  • Have a working knowledge of coordination with state and local authorities having jurisdiction over healthcare facilities design and construction.
  • Oversee all correspondence and pertinent documents for accuracy, obtaining signatures, and seeking legal counsel as appropriate.
  • Coordinate the review and evaluation of contractor bids, working with the Principal to submit award recommendations to the owner.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership in the absence of and as delegated by the Principal and/or Practice Group Leader.
  • Collaborate with Practice Group Leader in the marketing of projects, including the development of proposals and possible participation in client interviews.

Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:
  • 7-15+ years of professional experience in increasingly complex healthcare projects.
  • OSHPD (HCAi) experience is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of the healthcare industry, particularly in areas of clinical innovation, operational improvement, planning, and strategic positioning for complex hospital systems.
  • Experience with Lean and Evidence-based design is a plus.
  • Architectural registration is preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other industry-accepted software, as well as expertise with Project Manager software and Microsoft Office products.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and be responsible for project delivery.
