Job description

Alta Vista Technology is a nationally recognized ERP consulting firm and proud Microsoft partner helping mid-market businesses leverage cloud-based solutions to drive growth, scalability, and operational efficiency. We're looking for a Business Central Practice Lead to manage and grow their Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central consulting practice.

This is a player-coach role: the successful candidate will provide hands-on practice leadership while remaining active on client delivery. Approximately 50% of their time will be billable on post-sale client engagements, with the remainder focused on practice management, team development, and cross-functional collaboration with Sales and ISV partners. This is a full-time remote role and reports directly to the COO.

What You'll Do

Practice Leadership (~50%)

  • Oversee day-to-day practice operations, including utilization tracking, project oversight, and team coordination.
  • Manage and mentor a team of BC consultants and developers, driving accountability and professional growth.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the BC practice, Sales, and ISV partners.
  • Define and uphold delivery methodology, quality standards, and best practices across engagements.
  • Stay current with Microsoft BC product releases and evolving capabilities — bringing that knowledge back to the team.
  • Report on practice KPIs — utilization, pipeline, and customer satisfaction — to leadership.

Client Delivery (~50% Billable)

  • Serve as lead consultant or solution architect on active Business Central implementations and post-sale engagements.
  • Lead discovery and requirements-gathering sessions with client stakeholders.
  • Design and oversee configuration, customization, and integration solutions within Business Central.
  • Guide clients through process re-engineering, data migration, and go-live readiness.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical or functional issues on client projects.
  • Ensure engagements are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 7+ years of experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or broader Microsoft ERP platforms in a consulting environment — GP-only backgrounds are not a fit for this role.
  • 2+ years in a leadership, practice management, or team lead capacity.
  • Proven comfort balancing billable delivery with practice management responsibilities — this role requires genuine enthusiasm for both.
  • Strong grasp of BC core modules (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or similar) and common integration patterns.
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills and executive presence.
  • A direct, accountability-driven leadership style — comfortable giving and receiving candid feedback.
  • Curious about the Microsoft product roadmap and motivated to keep the team sharp on new releases and capabilities.

Nice to Have

  • Microsoft certifications such as MB-800 (Business Central Functional Consultant) or MB-700 (Solution Architect).
  • Experience developing repeatable accelerators, IP, or industry-specific BC service offerings.
  • Experience working within the Microsoft and ISV partner ecosystem.

What We Offer

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full-Time

OTE: $140,000 – $170,000

Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage; 401(k) with company match; generous, flexible PTO; professional development and certification support; and a collaborative, values-driven culture backed by Pine Services Group
