They are currently looking to add a Packaging Development Manager to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate
$50k - $60k
Position Overview
Seeking a Packaging Development Manager (Project Manager) on a Direct Hire basis to oversee the packaging process from design through launch. This role involves managing multiple projects, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring packaging meets quality, timeline, and budget goals. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and expertise in packaging materials and specifications.
Responsibilities Of The Packaging Development Manager
  • Manage the packaging process and communicate with key stakeholders throughout development, design, and launch phases.
  • Manage and monitor project progress to ensure scope, timeline, budget, and quality goals are met.
  • Collaborate with overseas factories to establish milestone dates.
  • Prepare critical documentation for package development, production, and progress tracking to meet deadlines.
  • Contact suppliers, customers, and agents/factories to gather all necessary package and product specifications, printing information, and limitations.
  • Follow up on pending information from suppliers and printers, including missing specifications, cost estimates, proof routing feedback, and invoices.
  • Attend product development meetings with internal and external teams.
  • Create and maintain packaging technical specification sheets in the PLM system, including drawing or illustrating packaging specifications.
  • Communicate project status updates promptly.
Required Experience/Skills For The Packaging Development Manager
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, think quickly, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design practices and processes, preferably for packaging.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Packaging Design, Marketing, Project Management, or a business-related discipline.
  • Expertise in packaging materials and specifications, with strong negotiation and cost management skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills For The Packaging Development Manager
  • Experience working with overseas factories and managing international packaging projects.
  • Knowledge of the Home Furnishings and Textile Industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems and packaging technical documentation.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite for packaging design support.
  • Understanding of sustainability practices in packaging development.
