JOB MISSION:

The North America (NA) Public Relations Manager is responsible for driving brand heat, cultural relevance, and earned influence across Brand, Lifestyle, and Performance categories. This role shapes how the brand shows up at the intersection of sport and culture through strategic storytelling, media engagement, and impactful PR moments.

Acting as a key regional connector, this individual develops and executes PR strategies that support brand, category, product, and event priorities-ensuring globally aligned, locally relevant narratives that drive both brand and commercial impact.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • In partnership with Integrated Marketing and cross-functional teams, develop and execute PR strategies that support seasonal brand, category, and product priorities in regional key markets.

  • Translate global narratives into locally relevant strategies that resonate with the North America consumer and media landscape.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with North America media, editors, stylists, influencers, and cultural tastemakers to secure high-impact coverage.

  • Develop culturally driven storytelling that connects sport, culture, product, brand ambassadors, and culture to drive conversation, relevance, and earned media.

  • Partner with NA and Global Brand Marketing, Entertainment Marketing, Sports Marketing, Media, Events, and Commercial teams to ensure aligned storytelling across paid, owned, and earned channels.

  • Monitor media coverage, cultural trends, and consumer sentiment, applying insights to optimize current and future initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5-7 years of public relations or communications experience

  • Deep, authentic connection to sport culture with a pulse on emerging trends, athletes, creators, and communities, including the ability to translate that understanding into meaningful brand and business impact.

  • Proven experience navigating a complex matrix organization, building strong relationships with cross-functional partners.

  • Proactive mindset with effective communication skills to ensure and reinforce alignment with key stakeholders across the organization.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Boston, MA Headquarters - (NB) Only Pay Range: $100,200.00 - $129,300.00 - $158,400.00 Annual (actual base pay varying based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, internal equity, geographic location, and more.)

Flexible Work Schedule

For decades we have fostered a unique culture founded on our values with a particular focus on in-person teamwork and collaboration. Our North American hybrid model encourages rich in-person experiences, showcasing our commitment to teamwork and connection, while maintaining flexibility for associates. New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations. To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced "Work from Anywhere" (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year. This model will help us enhance our culture while continuing to maintain elements of flexibility.
