  • Department: Rehab Orthopedics
  •  Schedule: Per Diem - Days. 8 hour shifts. No more than 3 shifts per pay period.

  • Hourly Rate: $39.01 an hour
Responsibilities

Increases consumer/physician/referral source demand for inpatient & outpatient rehabilitation services. Promotes community education in rehabilitation & wellness. Assists in the development & implementation of the marketing plan. Provides pre-admission assessment of patient candidates for the Rehabilitation Care Unit, including the determination of the discharge plan, and obtaining Medical Director & business office approval. Establishes and maintains optimum working relationships with third party payers, case management organizations, physicians, discharge planners and community referral sources. The Perspective Pay Systems Coordinator (PPS) Coordinates, assesses, monitors and evaluates the IRF-PAI (Inpatient Rehab Facility-Patient Assessment Instrument) process, which determines a patientโ€™s RIC (Rehab Impairment Category), CMG (Case Mix Group) and payment under the rehabilitation Prospective Payment System and the outcome measurements. Functions as a vital member of the interdisciplinary team. Is knowledgeable and up to date on Medicare regulations affecting the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility, so that appropriate reimbursement can be achieved. Educates and assures staff is UDS Certified in FIM scoring. Audits charts to assure staff competency and accuracy with FIM guidelines and CMS Quality Indicators. Educates physicians on admission criteria and clinical documentation to support admission and reimbursement. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Minimum: RN, Therapist, Bachelors in Marketing/Business preferred2. Current CA license; current CPR, Health Care Provider (AHA)3. Two (2) years Rehabilitation experience preferred4. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology5. 3 years of experience in the rehab area6. BLS Course forms the American Heart Association (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current
