Job Description: Heavy Equipment Operator is required to perform heavy equipment operation as part of the PPS construction crew. This will include but not limited to operating excavators, backhoes, front-end loader, pavement rollers and skid-steers. Must be willing to listen, learn and communicate with Project manager, Superintendent, Foreman, or other General laborers to complete tasks and overall job successfully. This also includes having proficient Safety skills, Quality workmanship and a Trustworthy reputation to provide the utmost degree of value in every task that you perform.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures utilizing the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Thorough knowledge of the hazards associated with working around natural gas, heavy equipment at/near trenches and all the additional safety precautions.
  • Operate and fuel all construction equipment that is being utilized to perform a task, Excavator, Loader, Etc.
  • Assure all paperwork is filled out and handed in daily such as dump forms, material tickets and DOT pre-trips inspections.
  • Must maintain the cleanliness of all company owned and rented vehicles/equipment. In addition, all the fluids need to be checked prior to operation and any fitting that requires grease needs to be checked and/or greased daily.
  • Perform general labor duties as needed by the foreman.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Physically able to operate heavy equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Adhere to the safety standards as defined by Precision Pipeline Solutions, safety standards and procedures.
  • Proper utilization of your Stop Work/Time Out Responsibility, this needs to be utilized when there is a change in work conditions that hasn't been communicated, when equipment is improperly used, or even if there is a lack of knowledge for a task that is being performed.
  • Have Driver's license for at least one year.
  • Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push and/or pull, twist and make repetitive hand movements. Ability to load, carry, lift, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Sitting or standing for prolonged period of time required. Must have the ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle.
