Job description

Role: Human Resources Generalist

Position Overview: The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day and long-term success of our workforce across both East and West Coast operations. This position is responsible for building strong HR foundations, ensuring compliance, and providing practical, people-focused solutions that support employees in both field and office environments. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. The HR Generalist will work closely with company leadership to guide onboarding, employee development, and organizational practices while upholding a culture rooted in integrity and accountability. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, consistency, and a straightforward approach to managing people and processes in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with company growth, operational goals, and workforce planning.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on organizational development, employee relations, and culture.
  • Ensure consistency of HR practices across East and West Coast operations.
  • Build and maintain strong onboarding and retention programs.
  • Promote employer branding that reflects our mission and values.
  • Foster a workplace culture grounded in honesty, integrity, and mutual respect.
  • Address employee concerns with fairness, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Lead initiatives that enhance employee engagement and morale.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws (multistate experience preferred).
  • Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee HR audits, documentation, and reporting.
  • Implement and manage performance review processes.
  • Support leadership in coaching, feedback, and employee development plans.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities.
  • Administer competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Conduct market analysis to ensure equitable and competitive pay practices.
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting and workforce cost planning.
  • Oversee payroll coordination, HRIS systems, and employee records.
  • Develop, maintain and improve processes across all HR and people management functions.
  • Possible management of a small HR team or act as a standalone HR leader (depending on structure).
  • Continuously improve HR processes for efficiency and future growth.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR certification preferred)
  • 58+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in construction, energy, or related industries
  • Strong knowledge of multistate employment laws and HR best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and handle sensitive matters with integrity
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problemsolving skills
  • Experience supporting both field (trade/construction) and office employees is highly desirable
  • Excellent technological and software skills
  • Compensation: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
