Our calling at PPEC of Palm Beach is supporting families in our community and the precious children entrusted to our expert care. PPEC of Palm Beach is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care center which was founded to serve medically fragile children from birth up to age 21 in Palm Beach County. We maintain a caring and nurturing environment where the patients' best interests are our top priority. Our goal is to optimize the patient's physical, emotional, and social outcomes. We achieve this through staff collaboration, communication, and celebrating accomplishments, big and small.
We're looking for an experienced PPEC Assistant to help in our Total Care room and to accompany patients on transportation to work on a part-time basis. Someone that is patient, detail-oriented, and enjoys a fast-paced environment would be well-suited for this role. If this is you, let us know!
Requirements
The PPEC Assistant engages with the children in our care by joyful stimulation throughout the day, assisting with medical treatments, activities, and play. The following functions describe the essential duties of this role. Individuals in this role may not perform all these duties or may perform additional duties not listed here.

  • Assist the nurse in providing daily care according to each child's Plan of Care
  • Assistance with ADL's (Activities of Daily Living), primarily with feeding, grooming, changing, transferring, and repositioning
  • Accompanying children on transportation vans as needed
  • Promote an engaging classroom environment where children can learn and develop
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Participate as a vital member of our multidisciplinary team
What We're Looking For
Must Haves:
  • At least 1 year of experience in a pediatric care setting
  • Valid Certifications such as CNA, MA, HHA, EMT
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required
  • Ability to pass a Level II background check
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry at least 50 pounds safely
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work a part-time schedule
Nice To Have:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with enteral feeding, tracheostomy, and seizure protocols
