What are some common challenges faced by PPC specialists when managing multiple campaigns simultaneously?

PPC specialists often juggle several campaigns across various platforms, which can make it challenging to allocate budgets effectively and optimize each campaign for the best results. Balancing competing priorities, monitoring real-time performance data, and adjusting strategies quickly requires strong organization and analytical skills. Additionally, keeping up with frequent platform updates and evolving best practices is essential to maintain campaign effectiveness. Team collaboration with designers and copywriters is also crucial to ensure ad creatives align with campaign goals.

What is a PPC specialist?

PPC specialists, or Pay-Per-Click specialists, are digital marketing professionals who manage and optimize online advertising campaigns where advertisers pay a fee each time their ad is clicked. They typically work with platforms like Google Ads, Bing Ads, and social media networks to drive targeted traffic to websites and generate leads or sales. PPC specialists are responsible for keyword research, ad copywriting, bid management, performance analysis, and ongoing campaign optimization to maximize return on investment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a PPC specialist?

To thrive as a PPC Specialist, you need strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of digital marketing principles, and experience with pay-per-click advertising platforms, often backed by a relevant marketing degree or certification. Familiarity with tools like Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Google Analytics, and PPC management software is typically required. Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for optimizing campaigns and collaborating with teams or clients. These skills ensure effective ad spend, high ROI, and successful execution of digital advertising strategies.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior PPC Specialist based in Netherlands.

This is a hands-on senior paid media role focused on driving measurable growth for home services businesses through performance marketing. You will own Google Ads strategy and execution across Search, Display, and Shopping, with Google Local Services Ads as a core area of responsibility. The role combines strategic planning, daily optimization, rigorous testing, budget management, and performance analysis. You will connect campaign activity directly to meaningful business outcomes, including qualified leads, booked jobs, ROAS, and cost per acquisition. You will also collaborate on Meta advertising, landing pages, offers, and lead follow-up systems to build stronger acquisition programs. The ideal candidate is an experienced PPC professional who can independently manage multiple accounts and make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced agency environment.

Accountabilities
  • Own the end-to-end strategy and execution of Google Ads campaigns across Search, Display, and Shopping as required, from account structure and setup through ongoing optimization.
  • Manage and optimize Google Local Services Ads profiles, including budgets, bids, lead quality, dispute submissions, and Google Guaranteed or Google Screened compliance.
  • Develop and manage complementary Meta Ads campaigns across Facebook and Instagram.
  • Structure campaigns and conduct rigorous A/B testing across ad copy, audiences, landing pages, and other campaign variables.
  • Monitor budgets, bids, performance, and spend allocation in real time to protect ROAS and cost per lead.
  • Analyze the full customer acquisition journey, connecting advertising performance to qualified leads, booked jobs, and other meaningful business outcomes.
  • Build and maintain clear performance reports for internal teams and client-facing reviews.
  • Collaborate with broader marketing teams on offers, landing pages, lead follow-up processes, and campaign strategy.
  • Apply local home services knowledge to campaign planning, including seasonality, service-area targeting, call tracking, and competitive positioning.
  • Manage multiple client accounts simultaneously while maintaining performance, accuracy, communication, and delivery standards.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on paid search experience with demonstrated ownership of PPC strategy and execution.
  • Proven experience managing Google Ads campaigns, including Search, Display, and Shopping where applicable.
  • Direct experience managing Google Local Services Ads for local service businesses or agency clients.
  • Demonstrated success improving ROAS and reducing cost per lead, supported by measurable performance results.
  • Strong understanding of PPC campaign structure, bidding, budget allocation, audience targeting, ad testing, and performance optimization.
  • Experience using data and business outcomes to guide campaign decisions rather than focusing solely on clicks and impressions.
  • Professional written and spoken English skills.
  • Experience working in an agency environment and managing multiple client accounts at the same time.
  • Experience with paid media for home services businesses such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, pest control, or similar industries is highly valued.
  • Experience with Meta Ads across Facebook and Instagram is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms such as GoHighLevel is a plus.
  • Google Ads certification is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of performance, and make timely data-driven decisions.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary paid in USD on a consistent monthly basis.
  • 10 paid vacation days per year.
  • U.S. federal holidays included.
  • Fully remote work environment.
  • Opportunity to work on paid media strategies for growing home services businesses.
  • Hands-on role combining strategic ownership with campaign execution.
  • Collaborative environment where PPC expertise and measurable results are valued.
  • Opportunity to influence paid media strategy and contribute to broader client growth initiatives.
