Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee 24x7 IT Operations activities across a complex, multi-platform enterprise environment, ensuring the availability, stability, and performance of critical technology systems.

  • Manage, monitor, support, and maintain enterprise infrastructure, production services, batch operations, application support, and operational processes to meet established service levels.

  • Direct and develop IT Operations staff by providing leadership, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and day-to-day operational guidance to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

  • Drive incident, problem, change, and service management processes to minimize operational risk, reduce downtime, and improve service reliability.

  • Plan and manage shift operations to deliver effective and efficient technology services that support business objectives and customer expectations.

  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and accountability while leading teams in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment requiring continuous operational support.

  • Partner with technology, business, and infrastructure teams to understand evolving business needs, prioritize support requirements, and implement operational improvements.

  • Manage workforce activities including employee relations, performance reviews, work assignments, time approvals, vacation scheduling, succession planning, and talent development.

  • Monitor operational metrics, service level agreements (SLAs), system performance, and capacity trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and automation.

  • Assist in planning, forecasting, and managing small to moderate operational and project budgets while ensuring adherence to financial, compliance, risk, and governance requirements.

  • Serves as a hand-on supervisor, providing day-to-day leadership while actively contributing to workload management and delivery

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • At least 6 years experience with a data center operating environment, day-to-day operational requirements, and the operation of production systems and equipment.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • IT Operations Leadership experience supporting large-scale enterprise infrastructure and mission-critical environments.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux administration, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), networking, and infrastructure services.

  • Experience with Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Management (ITIL) methodologies and operational governance.

  • Expertise in monitoring, observability, logging, and performance management tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, AppDynamics, or similar platforms.

  • Experience managing high availability, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and business continuity programs.

  • Strong understanding of automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or related technologies.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage vendor relationships, and influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and operational risk management skills with a focus on reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00
