Job description

Job Summary:
D2 Consulting is seeking a ScienceLogic Engineer to support the SL1 platform, focusing on upgrades, maintenance, and customer requests for custom monitoring needs. The role involves maintaining a healthy infrastructure for a 24x7 monitoring environment and providing advanced engineering solutions for complex problems.
Responsibilities:
• Ability to maintain and support a healthy infrastructure for a highly visible 24x7x365 monitoring environment
• Performs continual maintenance of the SL1 platform and provides advanced solutions for continual and highly complex security, backup and redundancy problems
• Performs administrative tasks and application support for the SL1 platform and create and maintain monitoring and notification rules
• Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
• Deliver SL1 dashboards, create custom reports on results of SL1 monitoring and provide timely problem resolution for SL1 system components and related custom scripts
• Prepare and maintain all documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
• Manage application access control to restrict access to systems, applications, and data to authorized users only
• Manage customer satisfaction through effectively communicating and managing customer expectations (internal and external customers)
• Ability to communicate how to leverage technology to create business value and become more effective and efficient
• Work with project managers and peers to understand and solve challenging technical problems, produce effort estimates, and improve system functionality, reliability and reduce costs
• Work closely with a Business Technology peers and management emphasizing collaboration and joint effort to ensure that the needs and expectations of organizational stake holders, business partners, external customers, and third-party organizations are met and/or exceeded
• Provides training and guidance to less experienced Engineers
Qualifications:
Required:
• BA/BS (or equivalent experience) and 5+ years of relevant experience
• 5+ proven years of experience installing, configuring, and daily administration of ScienceLogic SL1 at version 12.x or higher required
• 5+ Years utilizing ServiceNow Ticketing system
• Experience with user training and writing documentation
• Must be able to obtain and hold a Public Trust clearance
Preferred:
• Experience using the Python scripting engine to automate tasks with SL1
• Familiarity with Service Now Integration, PowerFlow, End to End Monitoring and CMDB
• Experience with major Microsoft technologies including PC and server operating systems, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, and Office
• Knowledge of server virtualization technologies, preferably VMware and/or Microsoft technologies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
