JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Power Systems Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain advanced power systems. The ideal candidate should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of the power supply, addressing both the technical and economic aspects of power system design and operation. Energy systems are critical for powering spacecraft and supporting long-duration missions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, analyze, and support power systems, including power distribution, power conditioning, and battery interfaces
  • Perform power budgeting, load analysis, and efficiency trade studies across mission phases
  • Ability to analyze and design systems in a collaborative multidiscipline environment
  • High level of proficiency in circuit analysis, test, and troubleshooting
  • Write clear and concise reports that document your work
  • Provide power system expertise during system integration and performance testing

Required Skills and Experience
  • Proficient in all phases of engineering development (requirements, design, test, and production)
  • Experience using industry-specific tools to analyze and test electronic systems
  • Ability to write technical documents and procedures
  • Experience with spacecraft or aerospace power systems, including battery management systems (BMS)
  • Familiarity with power integrity analysis, grounding strategies, and high-current PCB layout techniques
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent technical communications skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience working on DoD and other USG development and deployment programs
  • Ability to hold and maintain a USG Security Clearance

Education & Work Experience:
  • Master's in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent with 5+ years
  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years

Compensation:
Annual Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $195,000/per year
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package (base+bonus+equity) and is determined within a range. Your actual base salary will be determined on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Our benefit plans include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k retirement plan, short and long term disability and life insurance. We also offer flexible PTO, along with 11 paid holidays, sick time and paid parental leave.
This is a full-time position in San Jose, California. This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) is required.
