Restaurant Equipment Service Technician Apprenticeship

Pro-Tech Maintenance and Repair - Castro Valley, CA
Pro-Tech has been servicing the food service industry for the last 37 years (Hot Side). If you are an excellent technician that focuses on customer service with a verifiable employment history, this is your chance to join a reputable team!
Summary:
Repair high speed cook restaurant equipment. Respond to dispatches and drive a company vehicle to provide maintenance, installation and service on commercial food equipment at customer locations.
Responsibilities:
  • Must be professional, courteous and respectful to our customers as well as fellow employees.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, managers/dispatchers.
  • Develop rapport with each customer to understand the right products, parts and services needed.
  • Responsible for completion of assigned work orders using company-owned vehicle.
  • Visually inspects and listens to machines to determine causes of malfunctions; dismantles machines to gain access to problem area.
  • Inspect parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems; removes and replaces worn or defective parts; repairs broken parts; realigns and adjusts components; tests machine operation following repair.
  • Perform effective equipment installation, removal, repair or maintenance to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and product performance.
  • Operate small hand tools and drills for machine repair. Comfortable and carful working around high power lines.
  • Ability to read and understand the different settings of a multi-meter.
  • Accurately maintain, stock, and document equipment, parts and consumables inventory.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and completely for each job completed and submit on time.
  • Demonstrate willingness and capacity to be trained on most commercial food equipment that is in, or added to the company line.
  • Participate in a rotational weekend schedule "On-Call"

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • You must have a clean back ground check.
  • A positive and supportive attitude towards customers, both internal and external.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills (mechanical and electrical).
  • Must possess valid State Driver's License, and acceptable driving record (max 1 ticket on record).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities.
  • A track record of being consistent with attendance and prompt arrival at work and meetings.
  • Able to think quickly, assess a situation and make a sound decision.
  • Always thinks about safety
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin or Chinese is a plus
  • Able to work effectively with others and independently. * Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds *Ability to climb a latter. *ย 
  • Must have stable work history with verifiable reference
