Job description

The Power Platform Developer designs, builds and supports robotic process automation solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, primarily Power Automate and Power Apps. Works closely with the business and IT teams to automate manual, repetitive processes, integrate systems, and improve operational efficiency while adhering to security, audit, and compliance standards typical of financial institutions.
Essential Functions
1. Design, develop, test, and deploy Power Automate workflows (cloud flows and/or desktop flows) for business-critical processes.
2. Build and maintain Power Apps (canvas apps preferred) to support automation-driven workflows, data entry, and approvals.
3. Create robust flow logic using conditions, loops, expressions, error handling, and retry patterns.
4. Maintain and enhance existing automations to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.
5. Follow secure coding and automation best practices, including environment separation and solution-based deployments where applicable.
6. Leverage Microsoft Copilot (or a similar tool) to accelerate automation development, generate workflow logic, and assist with troubleshooting and optimization.
7. Integrate Power Automate flows with internal systems, SharePoint, Dataverse, file systems, email, and third-party applications.
8. Consume and work with REST APIs, including handling authentication, request/response payloads, and JSON data structures.
9. Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure automation accuracy and data integrity.
10. Analyze existing business processes and document as-is workflows, automation logic, and dependencies.
11. Assist in designing future-state automated solutions, identifying technical constraints and optimization opportunities.
12. Translate business requirements into technical automation designs and implementation plans.
13. Estimate effort and complexity for automation requests and contribute to prioritization discussions.
14. Implement logging, exception handling, and notifications within automation workflows.
15. Monitor automation runs and troubleshoot failures or performance issues.
16. Support audits and reviews by providing required documentation, automation run histories, and evidence of implemented controls.
17. Ensure automations align with security, access control, and compliance requirements common to banking environments.
18. Document automation logic, configurations, data sources, and operational procedures.
Qualifications
1. Familiarity with IT concepts such as environments, permissions, and change management preferred.
2. Experience using Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-assisted tools to accelerate automation development and optimization preferred.
3. Exposure to Power Platform governance, environments, or Dataverse preferred.
4. Understanding audit controls, data security, or compliance requirements preferred.
5. Experience with Copilot Studio or integrating Copilot-enabled experiences into business processes preferred.
6. Strong understanding of workflow logic, conditional branching, error handling, and automation lifecycle management.
7. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear documentation/communication skills.
8. Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and system integrations preferred.
Education, Training, Experience, Certifications and Licensure
1. Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field.
2. Power Automate and Power Apps certification preferred.
3. SQL certification preferred.
4. 1-2 years of hands-on experience in automation, RPA concepts (unattended automations, scheduling, and exception queues), or Power Platform development.
5. 1-2 years of experience with Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps.
6. 1-2 years of SQL experience, including writing queries for reporting, validation, or automation logic preferred.
