Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all subordinate staff and subcontractors demonstrate safe work practices in accordance with OSHA, NFPA, state and local codes, and Strata Solar Services safety policies and procedures in the performance of regional plant maintenance activities.
  • Monitor day-to-day operation of utility-scale PV power generation plants in the assigned region through DAS, SCADA and CMMS systems.
  • Assign and monitor scheduled and unscheduled plant maintenance activities performed by both plant maintenance field teams and subcontractors in the assigned region with the objective of optimizing plant performance and plant operating efficiency.
  • Confirm compliance with warranty and SSS contract obligations in the assigned region during the operating period.
  • Perform analysis of inspection and testing data provided by field personnel in assigned region
  • Ensure completion and submission of all inspection and testing data provided by assigned field personnel to the Operations Support Center.
  • Participate in system design reviews, scope of work reviews, and legal contract reviews for newly assigned projects.
  • Manage regional plant maintenance budget, inventory, purchasing and invoices.
  • Perform acceptance inspections on newly assigned power generation plants in the assigned region, and generate acceptance reports.
  • Assist in the development of regional staffing plans for plant maintenance operations. โ€ข Assist in the training and professional development of employees.
  • Assist with or lead interdepartmental maintenance operations as needed.

Environmental Responsibilities:
โ€ข Will participate in the environmental compliance program, administrative record maintenance of regulated hazardous and non-hazardous waste, conduct routine inspections, and support emergency response operations.
โ€ข Assists maintaining compliance with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
โ€ข High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
โ€ข Minimum five (5) years' experience working directly on energized industrial AC and DC systems with at least two of those years working on PV power generation systems or similar systems with directly transferable skills that align with those listed in this job description.
โ€ข Minimum three (3) years' experience supervising electrical work with primary responsibility for electrical safety and process adherence of the personnel performing such work.
โ€ข Possess strong knowledge of electrical theory & PV power generating system fundamentals.
โ€ข Aptitude for learning and understanding operation of various testing equipment, tools and procedures utilized in the maintenance of PV power generation systems.
โ€ข Ability to collaborate and coordinate well with peer Technicians and other personnel, vendors, and subcontractors.
โ€ข Ability to lead field team.
โ€ข Proficiency with MS Office applications to include but not limited to MS Word and Excel, as well as an ability to learn new computer programs without difficulty.
โ€ข Ability to operate in a professional workmanlike manner consistent with the organization's policies, procedures, and vision.
โ€ข Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
โ€ข Must be able to work in an outdoor environment for extended periods of time.
โ€ข Must have the ability to travel for extended duration to remote project sites.
โ€ข Must be able to stoop, kneel or bend.
โ€ข Must be able to lift, push or pull 50 lbs. overhead repeatedly.
โ€ข 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction and ability to distinguish colors.
โ€ข Ability to wear full complement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE
