Job Summary

This position is responsible for acting as sponsor for the health of the plant systems. Facilitate the effective engagement of assigned Engineers to optimize performance of the team's systems in support of maximized station efficiency.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide first-line leadership and supervisionfor the Plant Support Engineering team, ensuring alignment with plant priorities and safe, reliable operation.
  • Manage and coordinate System Health Team activities, including identification, prioritization, and resolution of system and equipment performance issues.
  • Represent Plant Support Engineeringon outage management teams and cross-functional plant forums.
  • Oversee monitoring, trending, and evaluation of plant systems, driving near- and long-term performance improvements.
  • Develop and manage corrective and improvement action plans, ensuring timely completion and effective resolution of plant performance issues.
  • Direct and prioritize daily work activitiesof individual contributors to meet plant, outage, and regulatory commitments.
  • Coordinate staffing and resource assignments, including on-call support, outage coverage, and special project needs.
  • Conduct performance management activitiesfor individual contributors, including goal setting, performance reviews, coaching, and salary actions.
  • Plan and coordinate large or complex engineering work scopes, task teams, and special projects involving multiple disciplines.
  • Review, approve, and ensure quality of engineering products and work deliverablesproduced by the group.
  • Manage assigned budget and resource utilization, ensuring engineering activities are completed efficiently and in support of department and site goals.

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineeringor a related technical discipline; Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of power plant systems, including engineering principles related to plant design, operation, and equipment reliability.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable codes, standards, plant-specific procedures, and regulatory requirementsgoverning nuclear power plant design and operation.
  • Working knowledge of planning, scheduling, and cost controlassociated with engineering activities and outage support.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership and supervisionof engineering personnel.

  • System and equipment performance, including identification and resolution of adverse trends.
  • Timeliness and quality of engineering deliverablessupporting plant operations and outages.
  • Team effectiveness, including collaboration, engagement, and adherence to standards and procedures.
