Job description

Role description: 

The Process Handler/Glass Inspector is responsible for maintaining the cold end department. This includes inspecting the in-process ware via both visual and specification inspections, reselecting and repacking ware, and ensuring the equipment is functioning properly. 

Compensation and Schedule: 

$26.08 Hourly Rate 

Rotating shift schedule

Responsibilities: 

  • Visually examine and inspect in-process ware  

  • Perform visual and specification inspections including spot checks using established sampling plan 

  • Reselect and repack ware 

  • Pull mold numbers or reselect molds on the lehr and perform various other duties assigned with line reselect 

  • Unjam equipment, perform line flow, run samples and evaluate quality based on requirements 

  • Operate label machine 

  • Make minor equipment adjustments where capable; i.e. wipe off a reflector 

  • Load automatic carton equipment and assemble carton parts manually 

  • Perform various duties associated with palletizer/unitizer/forklift operations 

  • Operate baler, compactor, power sweeper, and empty glass hoppers to keep the packing room clean 

Minimum skills / qualifications:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent 

  • Three (3) years experience in a manufacturing environment, or transferrable industry 

  • Effective communication skills 

  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours 

  • Must be able to lift twenty (20) pounds 

Preferred skills / qualifications:  

  • Applicable Trade School certifications 

Compensation

The starting pay rate for this role is $26.08 per hour.  Any future increases are dictated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
