Job description

Position Title: Maintenance Technician, Nights
Position Type: Regular - Full-Time

About the role.

Our Maintenance Technicians perform maintenance procedures on all plant equipment, including lubrication, line inspections, and preventative maintenance procedures from a checklist. They also make minor mechanical adjustments and replace equipment/parts. This role will require a working schedule of 12 hour rotating shift on nights from 6pm to 6am.
Accountabilities:
  • Performs maintenance and repair work on all production line equipment with little or no assistance or supervision.

  • Manages scheduled work through CMMS.

  • Performs preventive maintenance work as scheduled. Inspects equipment to ensure proper maintenance. Identifies and documents required repairs.

  • Performs electrical troubleshooting on three-phase and single-phase power, and on instrumentation equipment, using a multimeter and arc flash gear.

  • Performs mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on all equipment.

  • Replaces bearings, seals, electric motors, and gear drives.

  • Repairs and/or splices wire belting, modular belting, and rubber belts on conveyors.

  • Repairs and maintains heating and ventilating units.

  • Repairs and maintains material handling equipment.

  • Sharpens and installs blades on various machines.

  • Maintains all ammonia compressors, air compressors, and vacuum systems.

  • Performs plumbing on steam, water, and hydraulics.

  • Performs general machine tool and stainless-steel fabrication.

  • Proactively supports internal and external customers.

  • Understands and follows established food safety and safety rules and practices.

  • Keeps shop and work areas in a clean and orderly condition in compliance with 5S.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and related experience Certification and/or Associate Degree in Mechanical field highly preferred.
  • Employee must frequently lift, push, and pull up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to wear and follow GMP (Smock, gloves, hairnet, sleeves, waterproof suit, ear plugs, protective toe shoes, and goggles - when needed.

Skills:
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret company policy and procedure, safety rules, equipment operation, and maintenance instructions.
  • Must have the ability to prepare and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must demonstrate prior knowledge of refrigeration, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and troubleshooting techniques.

Compensation Package: Starting at $31.80 USD hourly + bonus eligibility + hourly pay differential for applicable shifts
