About the Opportunity


A growing industrial equipment and service organization is seeking an Industrial Air Compressor Technician to support customers throughout the Indianapolis, IN market.


This is a hands-on field service position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, working independently, and solving mechanical and electrical problems at customer locations. While previous compressed-air experience is valuable, it is not required for every candidate.


The team is open to technicians coming from industrial field service, automotive repair, commercial HVAC, industrial maintenance, equipment repair, mechanical service, electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, and similar technical backgrounds.


Candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and experience working directly with customers can be trained on compressed-air systems through structured technical and manufacturer training.


What You’ll Do


• Travel throughout an assigned territory to service equipment at customer locations


• Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair industrial air compressors and compressed-air systems


• Perform preventive maintenance and identify equipment issues before they result in unnecessary downtime


• Work with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and industrial equipment systems


• Diagnose equipment problems and recommend appropriate repairs or service solutions


• Assist with installation, startup, service, and repair of compressed-air equipment


• Work with pumps, motors, controls, dryers, gearboxes, and other industrial equipment as needed


• Respond to customer service calls and help keep equipment operating reliably


• Work independently while managing daily service responsibilities and customer appointments


• Communicate directly with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, and recommended service


• Complete accurate service reports and required documentation


• Maintain tools, parts, and equipment within a company-provided service vehicle


• Follow company and customer safety procedures


• Participate in ongoing technical, manufacturer, and supplier training


• Represent the organization professionally at customer facilities


What You Bring


• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability


• Previous experience servicing, repairing, maintaining, or troubleshooting mechanical and/or electrical equipment


• Air compressor or compressed-air service experience is a plus, but not required


• Field service experience is strongly preferred


• Candidates from automotive repair, commercial HVAC, industrial maintenance, industrial equipment service, automation, mechanical repair, electrical service, or similar technical backgrounds are encouraged to apply


• Experience working with motors, pumps, electrical systems, pneumatics, controls, HVAC equipment, rotating equipment, or other industrial machinery is helpful


• Ability to diagnose technical problems and work through solutions independently


• Strong communication and customer service skills


• Self-motivated, dependable, and organized


• Comfortable traveling between customer locations throughout the assigned territory


• High school diploma or GED


• Valid driver’s license


• Ability to pass required background and drug screening


• Willingness to learn compressed-air equipment through company-provided training
