Job Description RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems in Roanoke, VA. This is a full-time direct-hire Office Based assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation and holidays.

Overview of YOUR role as a Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead electrical design of power distribution infrastructure, medium and low voltage power, lightning protection, and grounding systems for DoD and Mission Critical Facility projects. This role requires an experienced professional with a Top-Secret clearance who can develop integrated controls sequences, perform power systems studies, and interface directly with clients while providing guidance to entry-level engineers throughout the project lifecycle.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems YOU will: Lead or assist with the electrical design of power distribution infrastructure, medium and low voltage power, lightning protection, and grounding systems for DoD and Mission Critical Facility projects Develop integrated controls sequences and schematics for power distribution equipment Develop and edit product specifications for power distribution equipment and electrical components Directly interface with client SMEs for coordination of power systems components, controls, and integration Develop designs from site assessments and concept design through a project lifecycle to final design Interpret and implement client requirements into code-compliant designs Create and supervise the development of electrical plans and details with the use of Revit or AutoCAD Perform Power Systems Studies through creation of electrical models in SKM (or similar software) Conduct electrical surveys (onsite) and site visits during construction Perform quality control review of electrical engineering design Provide guidance to entry-level engineers Prepare and review design and construction cost estimates for electrical scopes of work Perform construction administration tasks including shop drawing and RFI reviews YOU are the ideal Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems candidate if you have: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field and 8 years of relevant electrical power system design experience or demonstrated equivalency Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) (required) Active Top-Secret clearance (required) US Citizenship (required due to the nature of this work) Valid US Driver's License Strong technical knowledge of power distribution systems Experience with power systems studies and electrical modeling software Proficiency with Revit or AutoCAD Ability to work in time-sensitive environments with direct client interface It's a BONUS if you have: 15+ years of experience Experience with spot networks and micro-grid systems, lighting design, and electrical commissioning Experience in development of A/E services proposals Effective written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with MS Office applications Ability to prioritize, multitask, plan, adapt, and self-initiate tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision Telecommunications design experience including telecommunications network, A/V, and electronic security design in DoD and mission critical projects Knowledge of and experience with Department of Defense requirements including Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and the National Electric Code About Our CLIENT Our client is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of their employees.
