Job Summary:
Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Senior Engineer with expertise in business intelligence and database management. The role involves administering databases, developing data models, and designing BI dashboards to support decision-making.
Responsibilities:
• Administer, maintain, and optimize relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL platforms).
• Develop and manage data models, schemas, indexing strategies, and stored procedures.
• Ensure database availability, reliability, and performance through routine health checks and monitoring.
• Implement data governance, quality standards, and integrity validation processes.
• Manage database backups, replication, DR/BCP, and recovery plans.
• Support database integrations across applications, platforms, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Troubleshoot database issues and execute remediation actions within agreed SLAs.
• Design, build, and maintain BI dashboards, scorecards, KPIs, and analytics reports (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, Splunk, ServiceNow, etc.).
• Translate business requirements into visual dashboards aligned to operational and executive reporting needs.
• Develop automated metrics pipelines, scheduled refresh cycles, and high-quality visualizations.
• Validate data accuracy, reconcile data discrepancies, and ensure metric alignment with business definitions.
• Work with stakeholders to define KPIs, operational metrics, and measurement frameworks.
• Perform ad-hoc data analysis and deliver insights to support decision-making.
• Standardize reporting templates, BI governance models, and documentation.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Strong proficiency in SQL (including complex queries, tuning, stored procedures)
• Database administration experience in SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar
• Experience with BI tools such as Splunk, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, ServiceNow, or Qlik
• Proficiency with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, dbt, Airflow)
• Understanding of data modeling (star schema, snowflake, dimensional modeling)
• Proficiency in leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to drive innovation and efficiency within technical domains
