Job description

Full-Time | 1 to 3 Years Experience Required

Applications reviewed on a rolling basis. Target start: 4 to 6 weeks.

So. What is this gig all about?

We are looking for a Junior Performance Media Specialist who is ready to get their hands dirty in paid media. You have enough experience to know your way around a campaign dashboard, and you are hungry to build on it. This is a role where you will be in the platforms every day, executing campaigns, pulling reports, and learning what it really takes to make paid media perform.

You will work closely with senior media team members, support a portfolio of client accounts, and grow your skills fast in an environment that takes the craft seriously.

OK but first, let us introduce ourselves.

We are R West. An independently owned, integrated marketing agency specializing in content-driven campaigns that build brands and drive action. In it since 1997, across offices in Portland, New York, and Amsterdam. We run on grit, guts, and grace.

Same standards on every project, no matter the size.

Bold strategy backed by real thinking.

Good faith mentality and a shared goal to see everyone succeed.

So what would I REALLY be doing?

Execute campaigns across paid digital platforms.

  • Build, launch, and manage paid campaigns in Google Ads, Meta Ads and others, under the guidance of senior team members

  • Implement campaign settings, audience targeting, ad copy, and creative assets accurately and on schedule

  • Monitor daily performance, flag issues, and make routine optimizations including bid adjustments, budget pacing, and negative keyword management

  • Support campaign setup across additional platforms such as LinkedIn, TikTok, Microsoft Ads, or programmatic as needed

Support reporting and performance analysis.

  • Pull and compile performance data from native platform dashboards on a regular cadence

  • Assist in building client-facing reports and decks using tools like Google Sheets, Google Data Studio, or Power BI

  • Help identify performance trends and surface them clearly to senior team members

Keep tracking and data clean.

  • Support tracking QA and campaign tagging to ensure data flows accurately into reporting

  • Work with tools like Google Tag Manager and UTM parameters to maintain clean, consistent data

  • Flag tracking discrepancies early so they get resolved before they affect decisions

Stay sharp and stay curious.

  • Keep up with platform updates, new ad formats, and changes in the paid media landscape

  • Explore how AI tools can support day-to-day tasks like research, ad copy drafting, and reporting, and bring what you learn back to the team

  • Come ready to ask questions, absorb feedback, and put it to work

What should I bring coming in?

The must-haves.

  • 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in paid digital media, whether in-house, agency, or freelance

  • Working knowledge of Google Ads and Meta Ads, including campaign setup, targeting, and basic optimization

  • Comfort pulling and organizing data in Excel or Google Sheets

  • Attention to detail. In paid media, the small stuff matters.

  • Genuine interest in performance marketing and how campaigns actually drive results

The nice-to-haves.

  • Exposure to additional platforms such as LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads, Microsoft Ads, or programmatic

  • Familiarity with Google Tag Manager or UTM tracking

  • Experience with reporting tools like Looker Studio or Power BI

  • Google Ads or Meta certifications

The intangibles.

  • You are detail-oriented and take pride in doing execution well, not just getting it done

  • You ask good questions and do not wait to be told something is wrong

  • You are coachable. You take feedback seriously and apply it quickly.

  • You are curious about AI and already thinking about how it fits into the work

Sounds fun. I actually get paid for this?

Yes. R West offers a competitive salary based on experience, plus health insurance (medical, dental, and vision), 401K with matching, profit sharing, an education fund, volunteer time, and more.

OK, I'm in. What now?

We look forward to hearing from you.
