OVERVIEW:
The Sr. BI Data & Reporting Developer is responsible for leading the design, development, support, and continuous evolution of business-facing analytics solutions that enable critical Supply Chain operations and transform enterprise data into actionable insights. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of operational processes, systems, and data flows to ensure analytics solutions effectively support business execution, operational visibility, and decision-making while driving modernization through self-service capabilities, automation, solution rationalization, and scalable analytics practices. This role partners with business, product, and technical teams to deliver impactful analytics capabilities, influence reporting standards, and continuously improve the effectiveness and sustainability of the analytics ecosystem.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Data & Analytics Solutions:
  • Utilizes modern analytics and reporting platforms (e.g. Cognos, SQL, Semantic Models, Databricks, Alteryx, PowerBI, and future approved platforms) combined with supply chain & enterprise data sources (Warehouse Management, Labor Management, Parcel Logistics, Ecomm Order Management) to transform raw data into actionable business insights.
  • Develops a deep understanding of Supply Chain operations, processes, systems, data domains, and stakeholder needs to evaluate business challenges and deliver analytics solutions that support business execution, operational visibility, decision-making, and continuous improvement.
  • Designs and develops scalable analytics solutions, dashboards, visualizations, and reporting assets that align with established data, reporting, and analytics standards while balancing usability, maintainability, and long-term support requirements.
  • Serves as primary stakeholder and advisor for analytics data models and semantic structures, partnering with the data management and data engineering teams to ensure business-facing reporting and analytics requirements are effectively supported.
  • Balances the immediate operational needs of the business with long-term modernization objectives by identifying opportunities to expand self-service analytics, automation, standardization, reusable datasets, semantic models, and scalable solution designs while maintaining reliable support for critical operational processes.
  • Maintains the health of the reporting an analytics portfolio by assessing existing solutions for technical redundancy, supportability, utilization, and alignment to established standards. Leads the technical execution of modernization, consolidation, migration, standardization, and retirement initiatives in partnership with Product and business stakeholders.
  • Creates and maintains documentation (Confluence) to track reports, use cases, data sources, version alignment, lineage, and data transformations supporting analytics solutions.
  • Evaluates emerging analytics technologies and platform capabilities, including AI-enabled features, to identify opportunities that improve data accessibility, insight generation, and operational decision making.
  • Participates in pilots and proof-of-concepts of new analytics capabilities and partners with cross-functional teams to assess business value and potential implementation approaches.

Leadership
  • Manages 2-4 direct reports (Data and Report Developers), providing coaching, development, work direction, and performance feedback.
  • Leads the Supply Chain citizen developer program by mentoring and developing participating resources, assigning and overseeing last-mile analytics and automation initiatives, and promoting solution development standards to expand organizational capacity and support business needs.
  • Manages the last-mile solutions ticket backlog and collaborates with product, business, and supply chain partners to align work priorities with organizational needs and objectives.
  • Evaluates new analytics capabilities and technologies and provides recommendations on where they may improve efficiency, insights or user experiences.
  • Helps establish and promote standards for last-mile reporting and analytics solutions to improve consistency, usability, supportability, scalability, and long-term sustainability.

Production Support:
  • Attend meetings and provide insights to supported supply chain teams about production data, integrations, and operational processes.
  • Maintain and support legacy processes and systems required to sustain current production operations.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for assigned production integrations and supports modernization efforts that reduce the risk and enable future capabilities.
  • Creates and manages operational alerting and monitoring solutions to improve visibility and drive efficiencies within Supply Chain operations.
  • Maintains a catalog of last-mile solution artifacts to support data lineage, impact analysis, and upstream/downstream dependency management.

Relationship Building
  • Serves as a trusted subject matter expert for supply chain data, analytics, reporting, and solution design.
  • Builds strong relationships with business partners to understand operational challenges, business needs, and analytics opportunities.
  • Partners with business, technology, and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration, resolve data related issues, and ensure alignment on solution requirements and outcomes.

Training and Development
  • Trains and mentors Data and Report Developer & citizen developer teammates on data solution techniques, analytics best practices, and troubleshooting of issues.
  • Partner with business and tech stakeholders to gain an in-depth knowledge of operational and systemic processes.
  • Continuously expands knowledge of supply chain operations, business processes, analytics methodologies, and emerging technologies to improve solution effectiveness.
  • Evaluates and adopts modern analytics capabilities and platform features that enhance productivity, insight generation, and stakeholder experiences.
  • Educates teammates and business users on reporting tools, self-service analytics capabilities, and emerging platform functionality.
  • Develops and delivers training sessions for end users to promote adoption and effective utilization of last-mile analytics solutions.

Other Tasks
  • Interprets business requirements, identifies appropriate data sources, and translates solution needs into clearly defined Jira stories and tasks.
  • Manages work items throughout the development lifecycle to ensure requirements are delivered effectively while controlling scope and maintaining alignment with stakeholder expectations.
  • Supports ad hoc reporting and data analysis requests using approved analytics and reporting tools to provide timely insights for Distribution Center and Corporate stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Applied Data Analytics
  • 5-7 years experience in recommending and creating visualizations and self-service tools based on available data, querying information directly from Databricks using IBM Cognos and SQL, tying technology solutions to analytics and providing the right solution for business users to make decisions.
